Psychotherapy in Eastbourne & online
My aim is for us to work collaboratively to meet your unique needs. I believe we both bring our knowledge, wisdom and experience into our sessions. In our work together, I draw on my core training in person-centred therapy as well as my additional training. I am IFS (internal family systems) and polyvagal informed, a qualified mindfulness teacher and I am passionate about therapeutic writing and its impacts on our physical and mental wellbeing. I am a race and diversity aware therapist listed in the Race Aware Directory, LGBTQ+ affirmative and I endeavour to encourage your authentic self-expression.
We can meet in person in Eastbourne, East Sussex, or online via video consultation. Meeting online means we can work together regardless of where you are in the UK. There are many other benefits of working online such as being able to reserve your energy and not having to think about travel, parking, and accessibility issues. Instead, you can make a nice cuppa and get comfy in your favourite spot at home.
Your confidentiality matters to me. I recommend letting anyone at home know that you will need your privacy for the time of our session. It can also be helpful to use headphones with a microphone so we can hear each other clearly and so we are not overheard. Our sessions will be held via secure video consultation software. This system is GDPR compliant to provide us with optimal privacy for working online together. I will provide a guide to online therapy in your welcome email.
Experience & Qualifications
I have lived with chronic illness and disability since early childhood. My first diagnosed autoimmune condition was alopecia. This has greatly influenced all areas of my life from career choices and hobbies, to relationships and how I present myself to others. If you’d like to read more about this, check out my blog.
My working life has been dedicated to supporting people through trauma, crisis, loss and change. I have been in the helping professions working with trauma and attachment since 2004 and I have been counselling people with a wide range of life experiences since 2014, including as a high school counsellor.
I currently work with adults, many of whom are living with chronic illness, loss & grief or trauma & dissociation.
